The Wife - Candice Hui

Hello! My name is Candice and I am from HZ8. The Wife is a fictional character inspired by a music video scene and lyrics from Melanie Martinez’s Dollhouse. Taking the viewpoint of a housewife, it reflects on Expectations vs Reality and is an analysis of a character, peeling off layers and layers until her true self is revealed. It’s also an exploration of structure and switches between perspectives of the poet, the husband and the wife.
